Part 4 of our 39 part run up to the start of the Eurovision Song Contest takes us to Tallinn, Estonia, potential home for the 2015 ESCs if Tanja can deliver for her home country
Analysis: I will give credit where credit is due, the fact that she could sing while doing even half of the crap-I mean rhythmic dancing-I mean dancing that she’s doing is amazing (get it?), and both she and the track are pretty hot. The verse is actually not that bad either. She does have some singing skill.
What is not amazing (lol), is the fact that she’s off key in the chorus. She can’t project loudly. Either that, or the mics were bad. I will give her the benefit of the doubt here, in addition to the already given credit that she’s doing some relatively complicated dancing here while singing. In order to hit every big lead note in the chorus, she has to slide up to hit it, which makes her sound even more off key than she actually is. If she’s not sliding, and it’s a design like what Sanna Nielsen is doing for Sweden, then she needs to either seriously step up her game, or stop doing it all together, because it is not working, and to add insult to injury, any large note on a word that starts with ‘A’ (like amazing, incidentally) she tends to squeak-yes, squeak- when she starts.
Verdict: It will be amazing if she reaches the finals (see what I did there?) and even if she did, there’s virtually no chance she wins.
